This Privacy Policy explains what information SideKick collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to users, SideKicks, and website visitors.

This policy applies to the SideKick mobile app, website, support channels, safety tools, booking features, payment workflows, and related services operated under the SideKick brand.
1. Scope and roles
SideKick helps people discover, book, and meet trusted companions and local activity partners for real-life plans. In this policy, "SideKick", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the operator of the SideKick service. "User" means anyone using SideKick, including people booking a SideKick, people offering SideKick services, and visitors to our website.
SideKick may act as a data fiduciary or controller for account, booking, trust, safety, support, and platform operations. Some third-party providers, such as payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, and verification providers, may process information for us or independently under their own terms.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, date of birth or age confirmation, gender or pronouns if you choose to provide them, city, languages, interests, bio, profile preferences, login identifiers, and account settings.
SideKick provider information
If you apply to become or operate as a SideKick, we may collect profile categories, skills, availability, service listings, pricing, portfolio photos, payout details, verification status, reviews, ratings, acceptance history, cancellation history, and service performance information.
Verification and safety information
We may collect identity verification status, phone verification status, safety preferences, emergency contact configuration, incident reports, moderation notes, warning history, blocked users, dispute information, and evidence you choose to provide to support a safety review.
Booking, chat, and transaction information
We collect booking requests, booking status, scheduled date and time, duration, meeting point details, notes, in-app chat metadata and content, payment order information, refunds, invoices, payout records, and customer support communications.
Device, usage, and technical information
We may collect device model, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, crash logs, diagnostic data, notification tokens, security logs, feature usage, referral source, and interactions with our website or app.
Location information
We may collect city, preferred service area, meeting location, and location data that you provide or authorize. We use location data to match bookings, suggest nearby SideKicks, support safety features, and improve search relevance. You can manage precise location permissions through your device settings.
3. How we use information
- To create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your account.
- To show profiles, listings, availability, pricing, and booking options.
- To process booking requests, confirmations, cancellations, refunds, payouts, and support workflows.
- To provide in-app chat, service notifications, OTP verification, reminders, and booking lifecycle alerts.
- To verify identity, phone number, payment status, and eligibility where required.
- To detect fraud, spam, abuse, unsafe conduct, payment misuse, policy violations, and security incidents.
- To investigate reports, moderate content, enforce our Terms, and protect users and the platform.
- To improve search, recommendations, app reliability, performance, accessibility, and user experience.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, audit, and law-enforcement obligations.
4. Legal bases and consent
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information because it is necessary to provide the service, perform a contract, comply with law, protect safety and legitimate platform interests, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or because you have given consent. You may withdraw consent for optional processing where the app or law allows, but some features may stop working if the information is necessary to provide them.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following ways:
- With other users: profile details, booking details, reviews, ratings, public listing information, and meeting details needed to complete a booking.
- With service providers: cloud hosting, authentication, payment, payout, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, email, SMS or WhatsApp delivery, verification, moderation, fraud prevention, and customer support providers.
- With payment partners: information needed to create orders, process payments, issue refunds, support payouts, manage disputes, and comply with financial obligations.
- For safety and legal reasons: information may be shared with authorities, courts, regulators, legal advisors, insurers, or affected parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: information may be transferred if SideKick is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide SideKick, maintain account records, complete transactions, support safety investigations, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms. Some records, such as payments, bookings, safety reports, moderation actions, tax records, and audit logs, may be retained after account deletion where legally or operationally necessary.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include access controls, encryption in transit, authentication, logging, backups, monitoring, and restricted administrative access. No online system is perfectly secure, so users should use strong passwords, keep devices updated, and contact us immediately about suspected unauthorized access.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, export, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, nominate an authorized person, or make a grievance about your personal information. If you are in India, SideKick aims to handle personal data in line with applicable Indian privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection framework as it becomes applicable to our operations.
9. Children and minors
SideKick is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, book services, or offer services as a SideKick. We do not knowingly allow children to use the service. If you believe a minor has provided information to SideKick, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. International processing
SideKick and its providers may process and store information in India and other countries where our infrastructure, vendors, or support teams operate. When information is transferred across borders, we use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and applicable law.
11. Cookies and website data
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic site functionality, performance, security, analytics, and remembering preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website functionality.
